Black Stars coach Otto Addo has called on the support of Ghanaians ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

As part of a broader movement to win the hearts of Ghanaians, some selected Black Stars players took turns after their respective call-ups to send messages to citizens to support the team after a disappointing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Inaki Williams, Antoine Semenyo, Gideon Mensah and Fatawu Issahaku all partook in the act, aimed at bringing back the love to the national team.

Speaking to 3Sports, Otto Addo expressed gratitude for the support received during the team’s tumultuous times and urged fans to come out in their numbers for Ghana’s 2026 World Cup qualifying game against Chad on Friday.

“A big respect for those who are supporting us. We are calling on your support. We thank you for your support. Even though things were bad, we were really grateful for each and everyone who supported us. Like I said, It’s not only about us, it’s about all of us, he said.

The Black Stars are winless in nine months, causing a sense of unrest and frustration among Ghanaians.

However, Otto Addo has encouraged fans to stick by the team, citing the new year as a turning point for Ghana, who are poised to return to the World stage for a fifth time.
