”The devil is using hard drugs to distract the youth” – Malik Basintale [Video]

Acting Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Agency, Malik Basintale, has revealed that the devil is using the abuse of hard drugs to distract the Youth.

He made these revelations at the press launch of the ‘Red Means Stop’ campaign against illegal hard drugs on Wednesday, March 26, 2026, at the Marriott Hotel in Accra

“The new trend the devil is using to distract the youth is hard drugs. This is why the fight against the use of drugs is important, as illegal mining,” he said.

He indicated that drugs from the past, such as tramadol, phenol, shocker, etc, were popular, but the latest one is an opioid called ‘RED’.

The NDC stalwart assured Ghanaians that the right steps are being taken with stakeholders to curb the use of the viral drug. of Youth

The Red Means Stop campaign, launched in collaboration with Entertainment Week Ghana, seeks to combat drug Abuse through education, empowerment and engagement.

The campaign will engage communities and entertainment stakeholders in raising awareness and advocating for stronger policies to curb substance abuse.

Some of the dignitaries at the launch included the Minister of Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare Addo, CEO of the National Youth Authority, Osman Abdul Ayariga, Olivia Boateng, Head of Tobacco and Substance Abuse Department at the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) and the Co-Founder of Entertainment Week Ghana, Degraft Oppong
