Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) have swiftly responded to a late-night road traffic accident at Nkrumah Circle in Accra, with no injuries reported.
According to the GNFS, a team from its National Headquarters, led by Assistant Divisional Officer I (ADO I) Monnie, received a distress call at about 11:46 pm on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, and arrived at the scene near the Goil Filling Station at 11:55 pm.
The incident involved a longman vehicle with registration number BE-2781, which was transporting 550 bags of beans and tiger nuts. The vehicle sustained partial damage, particularly to the engine compartment and the passenger side.
The driver and his mate escaped unhurt, while the exact cause of the accident is yet to be established and remains under investigation.
Firefighters secured the area to prevent further danger to the public and carried out clearance operations to ease congestion. Normal traffic flow was subsequently restored after the successful operation.
The GNFS has once again urged road users to exercise caution, especially during late-night driving, to help prevent accidents on major roads across the country.
