Entertainment mogul Lawrence Asiamah Hanson, better known as Bullgod, has endorsed Joseph Matthew’s reggae song “Love In You” as a non-negotiable contender for the Reggae Song of the Year category at this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
Joseph Matthew, often celebrated for his unique “Afro-Gospel” fusion, took a deep dive into authentic reggae rhythms with this release.
The track features world-class mixing and mastering that bridges the gap between the diaspora and the local scene.
While Matthew is known for his faith-based lyrics, “Love In You” carries a universal message of compassion that resonates across all demographics.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on “Aye Hu”—a social mid-morning show on Accra-based Hot 93.9FM—Bullgod revealed that the song is a world-class production that deserves a nomination at this year’s awards.
“The song is very great… It is beautiful and world-class,” he stated.
Multiple award-winning Afro-dancehall star Livingstone Etse Satekla, better known as Stonebwoy, has historically dominated the Reggae/Dancehall category at the TGMA.
When asked whether he believes Joseph Matthew can break that streak with “Love In You,” Bullgod—who has also launched a social impact project aimed at improving conditions in police holding cells, with the theme Bright Walls —noted:
“If there is no public voting, I’m sure Matthew can win. But because Stonebwoy, Jupitar, and Shatta Wale have the numbers, he may not win; however, the song certainly deserves a nomination,”
