Mario Balotelli is one of 35 players called up by Italy coach Roberto Mancini to a training camp in Florence this week.
The 31-year-old hasn’t featured for the Azzurri since 2018.
After dismal spells with Brescia and Monza in Serie B, the skilled and powerful attacker is looking to resurrect his career with Adana Demirspor in Turkey.
Mancini, who coached Balotelli at Inter and Manchester City, has also called up Lazio defender Luiz Felipe and Cagliari attacker Joao Pedro, both naturalized Italians born in Brazil.
In the playoffs, Italy will face North Macedonia, and if they advance, the winner of Portugal-Turkey.
