Security Measures Intensified As Jaman South Listed Among Constituencies With High Hotspots-Police

Security measures in Jaman South Constituency of the Bono region have been tightened just about few weeks to elections. According to the Jaman South Election Security Taskforce, 31 flashpoints have been captured in the constituency ahead of the December 7, polls.

Speaking on the development, in an interview with Hot 93.9Fm’s Trimude Hemaa Akua Serwah, the Jaman South Police Commander, DSP Isaac Obo Takyi who assured the constituents of maximum protection before, during and after the polls noted that, the flashpoints were identified based on the intelligence picked by the security in the area.

According to him, though some communities in Jaman South are still under curfew, voters must allay off the fear and go out in their numbers to decide on the Election Day as security personnel have been task to take charge.

He made this comments at a sensitization programme organized on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 by the election security taskforce for the media towards peaceful election 2020.

Since Jaman South shares borders with Ivory Coast, the Commander in charge of Kwameseikrom Border, one of the greatest borders in the constituency, DSI Penny Oduro Sarpong further cautioned persons who have planned to enter Ghana to vote to rescind their decision. ” land borders still remain closed per the government’s covid 19 directives, hence, anyone who flaunt the law wont be spared” he added
