In a stunning turn of events, a 23-year-old man was rescued alive after spending three days in the sea at Anomabo in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region.
The individual, identified as Kofi Tawia, a fetish priest, was swept away while swimming on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at around 7:00 PM.
Despite efforts by swimmers to locate him, Tawia remained missing until Thursday, July 11, 2024, when he was miraculously washed ashore alive.
Eyewitnesses told Kasapa News Yaw Boagyan that Kofi Tawia was seen removing his clothes and shoes on the shore before swimming, but he failed to return, sparking a frantic search.
Three days later, after libations were poured by the Chiefs and Fishermen of Anomabo, Tawia emerged from the sea, wet and alive. He was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.
The incident has left the Anomabo community in shock, with many believing that Tawia may have been engaged in ritual activities in the deep sea.
The Chief of Anomabo has vowed to summon Kofi Tawia for questioning, and the case has since been reported to the Anomabo Police Station for investigation.
