Vice President and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has called on security personnel and officials participating in today’s special voting exercise to vote for him and the NPP’s parliamentary candidates.
He emphasized the party’s dedication to enhancing the country’s security sector and the need for continuity to further the gains made under the NPP government.
Highlighting achievements in the security sector, Dr. Bawumia noted the significant strides made in addressing long-standing challenges inherited by his administration. These challenges, he said, included internal disputes and an overstretched workforce that required comprehensive reforms. The Vice President stated that these reforms were critical to ensuring a more robust and reliable security infrastructure.
He proudly recounted the government’s investments in modernizing the Police Service, including the addition of over 900 vehicles and three helicopters to improve operational efficiency. Dr. Bawumia also spoke about efforts to enhance the living conditions of security personnel, mentioning the construction of new barracks housing units as a testament to the government’s commitment to their welfare.
Dr. Bawumia’s message to the special voters sought to reinforce the NPP’s vision of sustainable development in the security sector. He urged them to recognize these achievements and vote to enable the continuation of these initiatives, which he believes are vital for national stability and progress.
