Celebrated UK-based Ghanaian musician Joseph Matthew has claimed that his mega-hit Reggae song, “Love In You,” should have won the Best Reggae /Dancehall Song of the Year at the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
Moliy’s “Shake It To The Max Remix” won the Best Reggae/Dancehall song award at the 27th edition of the awards.
Produced by the acclaimed Francis Osei, “Love In You” is a love song in which Matthew expresses his affection for a woman. Showcasing Joseph Matthew’s versatility, the track highlights his ability to blend various musical styles by exploring a high-tempo reggae rhythm.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Hot 93.9FM’s Hot Weekend Jam show, Matthew revealed that he firmly believes “Love In You” deserved the Best Reggae Song of the Year title.
According to the “Fear No Evil” crooner, “I had the best Reggae song in 2026. ‘Love In You’ should’ve won the best Reggae song… Just listen to it and tell me which of the songs that got nominated was better than it. But it was not even nominated… It’s surprising.”
Joseph Matthew is set to drop his debut single for 2026, dubbed “Walk,” on July 7.
Masterfully produced by the award-winning sound engineer Francis Osei, “Walk” promises to be more than just a song; it is crafted to be an experience.
The track aims to serve as an aural companion for listeners, guiding music lovers seamlessly through the rest of the year with grace and without blemish.
