The Minister for the Interior has announced the renewal of curfew hours in Bomaa Township and its environs in the Ahafo Region.

Effective Tuesday, July 30, 2024, the curfew will be enforced from 11:00 pm to 4:00 am. This measure aims to address ongoing security challenges in the area.

The government has called on the chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth, and residents to exercise restraint and use non-violent means to promote peace. It emphasized the importance of community cooperation in ensuring stability and safety.

In addition to the curfew, there is a strict ban on carrying arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons within Bomaa and its surroundings. Anyone found in possession of such items will face arrest and prosecution as part of efforts to maintain order.

Similarly, the curfew hours in Bawku Municipality and its environs in the Upper East Region have been reviewed.

Starting Tuesday, July 30, 2024, the curfew will be from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am.

The government urges the people of Bawku to continue using peaceful methods to resolve conflicts and abide by the ban on carrying weapons to support the peace process.
