The donation, spearheaded by the Chairman of the Tobinco Group, Elder Dr Samuel Nana Amo Tobbin, was timed to commemorate this year’s World Malaria Day.

The gesture forms a core part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, which seeks to strengthen healthcare delivery across the country.
The items included antimalarial drugs such as Lufart and Entramol, as well as blood tonics and other essential medicines to aid in patient treatment.
Receiving the items on behalf of the facility, Josephine Mensah, the Director of Pharmacy at UGMC, expressed profound appreciation for the company’s thoughtfulness.
“I would like to thank you for this kind gesture… You didn’t come with only malaria medication, but you also brought blood tonics. We know that these items will really help us a lot because not all our patients can afford them,” she said

While thanking the team, Josephine Mensah also made a passionate plea for sustained partnership rather than occasional support. She urged the company to keep the medical centre in mind for future CSR initiatives.
“I will plead that you wouldn’t wait for next year before you come to our aid again… Remember us when you are doing your donations… and when you bring the things, we promise to put them into good use.”
